General Ideas & Information Technology Consulting

Outside of my normal responsibilities and duties, I am open to most any beneficial exchange of services and/or products. This may be the exchange of ideas over dinner, referrals, contracting for written materials, or services and labor.

My current profession as a professor for the past 5 years has helped focus my career ambitions and motivations. I have focused on the educational efficiency around the business and telecommunications industry. The courses that I have managed and designed include the freshmen introductory telecom course, the sophomore networking course, and most importantly, the capstone senior project and the local telecom program assessment process and integration.

My experience in education and training include positions as a regional supervisor for a national security corp., a Leading Petty Officer of the U.S. Navy, and a self-proprietor educating customers and training employees.  Currently, my positions include...

• A full-time Associate professorship at DeVry University where I am instructing in the telecommunications course for data communication principles and designing the wide area networks course for the Spring 2003 term. I have found my current employment to be the most challenging, frustrating and rewarding. 

• The Executor of my family trust and business just recently inherited. A reorganization project is currently underway.  I am currently organizing and establishing two companies: Thunderchild.net and JMHProperties.biz. Thunderchild.net operates as the investment, management, general consulting, and a holding company for various business interests and adventures. JMHProperties.biz operates as the rental properties and services; currently, located in Fort Scott, Kansas.   

• Continued education and training.  My next objective is to complete a Masters degree that enhances my strategic abilities and vocation. I've completed a few initial classes at Keller Graduate (now part of DeVry University). I plan to attend Rockhurst University to complete my MBA with a focus in information technology industry and certification.

Here are some of the highlights from my colorful employment history.

• Estate management consisting of rental properties located in Fort Scott, Kansas and investment accounts maintained with Edward Jones. · Currently assessing the business and preparing a five-year comprehensive business plan.

• Researched, assembled, and developed class and lab courses related to telecommunications in the following courses: Introduction to Telecommunications, Data Communications Fundamentals, LAN/WAN Technologies, Network Operating Systems (Novell and NT), Enterprise Networks, and Senior Project.

• Coordinated eighteen simultaneous telecommunications projects.

• Functioned in both faculty and administrative positions.

• Completed CNA certification, Microsoft NT and CCNA training.

• Responsible for maintenance of Novell 3.12 Network and Dash OPS CTI System .

• Analyzed and designed technology needs to meet business goals.

• Developed database system for tracking lab inventories and topologies.

• Installed and configured Windows Peer-to-Peer system, and Windows 3.11 systems with access to a Novell 4.11 network.

• Installed Nortel SL1-ST PBX, UNIX 5.04, and SwitchView software.

• Outlined a one-year project and consulted three senior projects dealing with in-house telecommunications equipment issues.

• Contracted and scheduled production for custom order items to meet client requests.

• Managed shop production and administration through internal and external sources.

• Achieved the standing of "Top Platoon Leader in the 25th Battalion." 

• Coordinated and supervised security watch bills for buildings and radio communications. 

• Coordinated and supervised professionals and non-professionals in the repair and rework of radio communication facilities.

• Promoted relations as radio station liaison between various Commands, organizations, and the general public. 

• Evaluated and coordinated the procurement of supplies and personnel for construction projects with overall cost savings. 

• Initiated, designed, and instructed various training and morale programs.

• Designed and implemented an occupational advancement study program.

• Evaluated client security needs, codified and implemented procedures to meet both physical and material security needs.
