Prerequisites & Important Notes


Prerequisite: Senior Status.
Prerequisite Course: MGMT 403 & Lab: Project Management.
Co/Prerequisite Course: TCM430 & Lab: Enterprise Networking.
Recommended maximum concurrent enrollment hours: 13 credit hours.
Expected minimum weekly workload (on average): 12 hours.

NOTE: Teams must maintain outlined communications and contact with the Project Mentor and Project Coordinator. Failure to do so will result in attendance violations and suspension or a drop from the course.

NOTE: Any project team that has not entered the Implementation Phase by week-5 of the term will need to meet with the Project Coordinator to discuss the possibilitis of completing a project for a grade during that term. The Concept Phase should be completed no later than week-4 of the term and the Development Phase no later than week 6 of the term.

The Project Manager can not be an employee or immediate family of the client due to possible conflict-of-interest issues. The Project Manager will be selected by the team members, interviewed and approved by the Project Coordinator before finalized. The Project Manager must have passed MGMT 403 & Lab: Project Management.

An average projects should require no more than 15 weeks (1 term) to complete. However, in a worse case senario, projects can span two terms but must not be delayed by more than 20 consecutive weeks.
Students whose projects span two terms should register in the term of expected completion.

The minimum requirements for specific grades (D, C, B and A) are outlined in the Grading Example Document. Team members are expected to contribute a specified amount of work as defined by the Project Description and WBS.

DeVry reserves the right to intervene at any level and to arbitrate on issues pertaining to a project as necessary.

A Project team may address any grievance identified through contact with the Senior Project Coordinator, Senior Project Mentor, School Counselor, or Program Dean.
