Grammar, punctuation, and spelling are expected and assumed professional writing skills in this course; however, layout and content will be defined in order to make project report writing and communications more effective. In short, a request for a project can occur in many forms. In the most formal form, this is usually an RFP (Request for Proposal) from a client to a contractor requesting a bid on a project. The contractor will examine the RFP and any accompanying TPR (Technical Proposal Requirements) to produce a proposal for the client. For the Senior Project, there is a minimum requirement for the project request and the resulting proposal.
The Project Description is the designed solution proposed to meet the Client Request. It results from the team's efforts to logically analyze the problem or business need and design a solution acceptable to the client.
In simple format, a WBS is a list of all the major tasks and their subtasks with assigned resources. I am looking at the WBS to ensure that you have applied effort to planning your projects and assigning resources to tasks.
The Microsoft Project Management Software is one of the tools used to design and track a project. The chart develops from your Project Description, WBS, Learning Contracts, and other support documents. The Gantt and Pert charts will be referenced at each report or presentation.
Status Reports quickly and effectively communicate the status and projection of the project to the Project Coordinator.
The Post Control Document is a professional self-evaluation of the project, program and member. Not only does it provide a self-evaluation of the senior in relation to the project experience and his or hers personal growth, but it provide a feedback from the student to the school for program assessment.
The project team will present and review their project in a formal and business-like presentation.
The Project Completion File is the professional package of all the work and signed documents from the project and is due 48 hours after the formal presentation..
The relationship between the project file and support documents must be clear.
