Cyclone Boiler Power Plant, St Joseph, Mo.

The Cyclone Boiler rendering is a PID (pipe and instruments diagram) from my last project in Kansas City.

Artwork Information:

My last civil job was Senior Project Manager with a company tasked with reworking
all the diagrams for a power company in Missouri and Kansas. These are partials
of my work during that time.

The Unit LR45 is a cyclone boiler. The small man is standing next to the ash
collector and under the LPG ignitor at the bottom of the cyclone. It burns a mixture
of coals and shredded radial tires. Which little pieces fall off the trucks hauling it
there. If you run over them, they will explode your tires. I ride a motorcycle.

There are three levels of steam that recycle through the cyclone and turbines.
These are shown in different color pipes. That’s the big jest of the plant without
going into all the PIDs and subsystems. The original plant build provides steam for
the slaughterhouse across the street.
Steam is used to clean the plant
from normal activities.

Several of the PIDs are included
for your enjoyment.
